Decker has always been a "country" performer, but her latest album is produced and marketed for a pop audience. Decker struggled to get more control over the music she made available after her two previous singles were not very well-received. Decker's sophomore studio album was revealed with the title Daughter of a Gypsy, or Sweet American Dreams. Mercury was able to cancel it, and three of her country tracks failed. The album was later canceled.
